Dear Family and Friends,
I wish to thank you all for your thoughts, letters, prayers, and support. These past two years have been
incredible. Now as I am leaving, I find myself more in debt to the Lord than when I began. I came to serve
Him, but it was He that served me.
Without wanting to be too sappy, I have decided to republish my first and last sappy goodbye poem, first published 16 February 2004.
Take it for what it's worth.
"My Goodbye Poem to the Brazil Florianopolis Mission"
I prayed it never would come,
but came it did so fast.
The day I dreaded is now here;
our time together has passed.
I'm never good with words,
especially when they're goodbye.
But I promise not to look back,
if you promise not to cry.
Maybe I will return someday,
but it will never be the same.
You know it, I know it--
The truth is such a shame.
But before I leave you now,
This I want you to know:
Every second here was heaven,
I hate to see it go.
But it's now all gone forever,
A dream long out of reach.
All I can carry with me now,
Are my memories of those days on the beach.
